Facebook is launching a new set of tools that permit job openings and applications to be posted directly on its social network.
Businesses in the U.S. and Canada can now post job openings on their Pages or in the new jobs bookmark — a move that takes on professional network LinkedIn not to mention job board websites.
“We’re focused on building new ways to help make it easier for businesses to interact with the over one billion people visiting Pages every month,” Facebook said. “This new experience will help businesses find qualified people where they’re already spending their time—on Facebook and on mobile.”
Once a Page admin posts a job, he or she will be able to review applications and contact applicants via Messenger, “all on mobile and all in one place.” Admins can also boost job posts to reach a larger audience.
