While there are bazillions of LMS (Learning Management Systems) in the market, not many can compare to the quality and value that both Kajabi and Thinkific can bring to the table.
Not only do both platforms provide their users with intuitive and easy-to-use functions, but they are both reasonably priced as well.
In this guide, we are going to review both LMS to figure out which of them will prove to be the best match for your needs.
We will do an in-depth review of how both platforms work. While we can’t cover the complete list of features and functions that both tools offer (because of how many there are), we will focus on some of the most crucial ones that are highly relevant to online course creators.
Let’s dig in.
What sets Kajabi apart from other LMS is the one-stop-shop solution it offers to its users. Not only does it help their users with uploading and organizing their online courses, but they also have built-in features that would allow them to manage/nurture their communities to encourage additional purchases or straight-up build the relationship between their users and their brand.
That’s just the surface of how amazing Kajabi is.
The platform also has truckloads of marketing features — by far the most comprehensive among its competitors — that would enable their users to increase their number of views, the leads they generate, and their sales (among other things).
Kajabi’s powerful yet intuitive dashboard
One of the challenges that a good number of users have when using LMS is how overwhelming the platforms are. These platforms often have a “clunky” feel to them, are often poorly laid out, and are straight-up confusing to look at.
You can’t say that any of these are true when looking at Kajabi’s platform.
As you can see from the screenshot above, while Kajabi no doubt has truckloads of features that their users can take advantage of to grow their business, the platform doesn’t look overwhelming at all — I chalk that up to how carefully Kajabi’s creators laid out their features.
The steps that Kajabi’s users need to follow when creating and customizing their products is pretty simple.
Step 1: Click “Product”
Step 2: Click “+ New Product” button
Step 3: Add your product title, and description then click “Save.”
Step 4: Add your product thumbnail then click “Save.” Remember that the ideal size for your thumbnail is 1280×720. At this point, your product is already created. The next steps would be for you to add your actual content and to personalize your products.
Step 5: Go through these links to add your posts and customize/personalize your products.
Once you follow the steps, you can create your products without becoming overwhelmed because the entire process is paced comfortably by Kajabi.
Some business owners despise the thought of having to create a website for their business because of how seemingly time-consuming and technical it is. However, those who are using Kajabi know full-well that doesn’t have to be the case.
With Kajabi’s website creation feature, creating a professional-looking website is easy to do. What’s more, Kajabi has stunning website themes its users can choose from. These themes are also customizable and very easy to use.
Check out Kajabi’s remarkable website themes.
With how crucial landing pages are to the success of a business, it pays for business owners to have a phenomenal-looking landing page.
Kajabi can help the business owners with just that.
Since we can all agree on how amazing Kajabi’s website themes are, I’m sure you’ll feel the same way about the landing page themes.
These are some of Kajabi’s landing page themes.
If you think it was mighty generous of Kajabi to give their users truckloads of free — let alone amazing — looking themes, then you’ll be amazed at how each theme has sub-themes or layouts that you can choose from.
There are several tools that you can integrate with your Kajabi account to further increase its functionality.
It’s also important to note how Stripe, a software that helps business owners accept payments online and in mobile apps, also integrates with Kajabi.
These are Kajabi’s pricing packages (billed annually):
- Basic – $103
- Pro – $301
- Premium – $719

Whether you are a seasoned online course creator or it is your first time setting up your online courses, you’ll find Thinkific very easy and painless to use.
Thinkific’s dashboard is also very user-friendly. Not only are the functions grouped together based on their relevance, but it also has a modern feel to it that’s pretty easy for the users’ eyes.
This gives the users a pleasant experience when navigating the platform.
Setting up your courses
After clicking the “Create New Course” button and adding your title, you will be taken to this page.
As you can see, the page looks pretty self-explanatory.
If you want to create a new chapter, then you just need to click the green, “Add Chapter” button, add your chapter title, click the “Save” button and you’re pretty much good to go.
To add content to your chapters, you just need to click the “Add Content” button, and the platform will show you content type options that you can choose from.
After choosing your content type, you can start adding your content.
While Thinkific’s website themes don’t look as great as Kajabi’s, their themes still look very professional and stunning.
It’s fairly easy to edit the website themes as soon as you apply them. However, Thinkific doesn’t offer that much flexibility with its users when it comes to its courses’ overall design.
These are Thinkific’s pricing plans (billed annually):
- Starter – $0
- Essentials – $39
- Most Popular – $79
- Advanced – $219

What’s my take on it?
I certainly think that both platforms are worth users’ money.
However, if I were to decide on which platform to choose as the better one over the other, I’d go with Kajabi.
While Kajabi already does such a great job at housing its users online courses, the marketing tools Kajabi included in its platform is such a game-changer.
Considering how noisy the Internet has become nowadays, having a solid platform that will help you market your products has become crucial to a business owner’s success.
